For more than thirty years, Tabletalk has existed as a magazine for laymen. Generally speaking, laymen receive either very little instruction in the weightier matters of the faith, or the instruction is too academic, thereby making the material largely inaccessible to average laymen. This is the reason Tabletalk exists — to bridge the gap between these two poles, to explain to the people of God important, biblical doctrines and events while admonishing them toward holy living.
Contributors include R.C. Sproul along with R.C. Sproul Jr., Carl Bogue, Iain Campbell, Morton Smith, Harry Reeder, Brent Bradley, Scott Smith, O.Palmer Robertson, and Tony Carter. Tabletalk features articles about topics central to the Christian faith and daily, in-depth Bible studies.
“The glory of election lies precisely in the fact that those whom God ordained to eternal life are made willing by His power (Ps. 110:3a, kjv) to come to Christ, their faith in Him the result, not the cause or condition, of God’s divine decree. It is those whom the Father gives to the Son who come to Him (John 6:37).” (Pages 12–13)
“But for a sinner to blame God for his damnation is not an excuse; it is an aggravation of his sin.” (Page 10)
“If I have any presence of mind at all, this much I know: I do not want what I deserve! If God gave me what I deserve, I would be without any hope. Wrath, hell, damnation, curse, eternal punishment—those are the words that describe what I deserve.” (Page 54)
“When men reject Jesus, they do so willingly and freely, because of the power of sin in their lives. When men accept Jesus, they do so willingly and freely, because of the power of grace in their lives.” (Page 13)
“God did not choose us because He foreknew that we would do good things; we do good things because God elected us for that very purpose.” (Page 12)
Tabletalk has been a key ingredient in the diet of Christians conscious of their spiritual vitality.

Month by month, Tabletalk represents an oasis in a desert of false spirituality, mindless Christianity, and vapid conviction. Tabletalk represents theological rigor, biblical Christianity, and authentic Christian devotion. It is an antidote to the world of superficial Christianity. Read it and grow.
