Wisdom literature present a biblical theology that is unique amongst the Old Testament books. Being entirely poetry and often focused more upon timeless truths than narrative history, the goals and priorities of the authors diverge in a number of ways than other texts. The texts are both culturally-bound, but also universal; situational, and yet far-reaching in their application. The three volumes included here examine many of these things, Daniel Fletcher examines the significance of the Messiah, even in the non-messianic Psalms. Then also, Robert Bell considers the biblical theology of the Psalms. Finally, Reuben Bredenhof presents an examination of Proverbs and how these ancient texts continue to have application today.
