Overview

The current controversy over the Bible's text and translations is creating confusing division within the ranks of Fundamentalism. A mass of misinformation fuels the debate. Scores of people realize the enormous errors being popularized but hesitate to engender further debate by speaking out. The confusion, however, is now so pervasive within Fundamentalism that the true, biblical, and historical facts on the text, transmission and translations of the Scripture must be restated in layman's terms. These facts argue eloquently for the unity, not the division of God's people on these issues.

“Inspiration is the action of God the Holy Spirit whereby He enabled divinely selected men, in keeping with God’s purpose and their personalities, vocabularies, and backgrounds, to make a pure and accurate record of God’s revelation that is inerrant in the autographs and as such is as reliable, as authoritative, and as much the Word of God as though God had penned it with His own finger.” (Page 28)

“It is not so much a process of deciding which books we want to include in the canon, but rather a process of discovering which books belong there.” (Page 31)

“All these views make man the authority over God’s Word, leaving the choice of what is or is not true to the reader.” (Page 18)

“The Holy Spirit guided the penmen throughout the writing.” (Page 20)

It is fair to say no one should consider himself informed on the translation issue unless he has at least read this book.
