Overview

For nearly 30 years, the Journal of Biblical Counseling (previously the Journal of Pastoral Practice) of CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) has provided a forum for biblical counseling’s development and application. The journal’s mission is to develop clear thinking and effective practice in biblical counseling through articles that faithfully bring the God of truth, mercy, and power to the issues faced by ministries of counseling and discipleship.

Top Highlights

“The basic rule of crisis intervention in suicide is this: if the level of suffering can be reduced a little, the individual then might choose to live.” (Page 19)

“Faith delivers you from your biggest problem, a proud self-will.” (Page 3)

“First, identify the ladders to nowhere that pride erects.” (Page 7)

“First, think a minute about who’s talking to us in Psalm 131. We are listening to the inner conversation of someone whom God called ‘a man after His own heart’ (1 Sam. 13:14). “Third, you are called to such hopes now and forever” (Page 7)
