Many of her books are published by Bethany House. She originally used the pen name of Janelle Jamison. Several of her series feature Harvey Girls, who are historically part of the Fred Harvey Company. Peterson is married to Jim and has 3 children, Jennifer, Julie, and Erik; they live in Montana.
