A Brief Introduction to Libronix DLS & the Prepub Program
What is the Libronix Digital Library System?
The Libronix Digital Library System (Libronix DLS) is a technology used to deliver digital libraries of books and interactive study tools. It is the "reader" software used to organize and display more than 9,000 electronic books from more than 100 publishers. Partners include Oxford University Press, Harper Collins Publishers, Bantam Doubleday Dell, Facts On File, Thomas Nelson, Tyndale House Publishers, Baker Book House, InterVarsity Press, United Bible Societies, and many others.
The system is uniquely expandable. A huge range of content is available for the system—as additional titles are added (individually or as part of a collection), they are integrated into the digital library and can be included in searches, reports, and opened right alongside existing titles.
The result is a dynamic environment that smoothly adapts to an individual's personal digital library—no matter what their speciality of study or even how many specialties they're interested in. Not only do all the modules work well together, they work well together even when delivered independently. So if you start with, say, Semeia journals and then decide to add a collection of Greek and Hebrew resources you'll see the power and functionality of your digital library grow as the new features are smoothly integrated into the Libronix DLS along with your new resources—usually without even upgrading the program code!
Libronix DLS is also global and multilingual, with localized user interfaces and electronic books in more than a dozen languages. Support for languages within the system goes beyond that provided by Microsoft Windows—you could use a Hebrew book while running with a Spanish user interface...under Russian Windows.
The minimum requirement for running Libronix is a PC with the following specs:
- 500MHz Pentium III (1GHz Pentium III recommended)
- 192 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
- Windows 98/Me/NT4.0(SP6a)/2000/XP/Vista
