Creating the Custom Plan

Creating a Custom Reading Plan provides control over many aspects of each individual reading, by allowing each session to be defined individually.

  • Go to the Documents menu.
  • Select Reading Plan from the left-hand side of the menu (New Documents).
  • Click Custom Reading Plan.
Setting up a Reading

Custom Reading Plans use a much different system of menus to create more elaborate plans, spanning multiple passages, in varying order. This is ideal for Reading Plans that follow a theme and for harmony plans.

  • To add readings from another Reading Plan, a Passage List, or a Clippings Document, click Add.
  • To add a brand new reading, use the options in the gray box.
  • Choose a date for the session (default: today).
  • Add readings, using the options provided.
Adding Readings to a Session

Tip: Adding readings to a session can be done in several ways. To make the process easier, it may be beneficial to arrange the reading plan window and Logos window so that both are visible. This way, you can drag resources to the plan.

  • Quickly add a reading from an open resource, by dragging the resource tab to the Drag shortcuts here area of the Custom Reading Plan.
  • A reading will be added, based on the open reference in the dragged resource.
  • Multiple readings from multiple resources can be added in this way. Continue adding until your session is complete.

It is also possible to add readings by clicking Choose an open resource. Similar to dragging, the active reference will be used, or click Type in a reference to add any reference from your Preferred Bible. When you're done, click Add session to finalize the current session and begin adding readings to the next session. Repeat this process until your plan is complete.
