Pronounce Original Laguages with Logos

Logos has the ability to pronounce original Greek and Hebrew for us. This tool can be accessed in several ways. The most common method, is through the Context Menu. While reading your Greek, Hebrew, or Reverse Interlinear English Bible, right-click on a word to open the Context Menu, then select the "Lemma" and choose "Pronounce". Logos will speak the word for you (*requires pronunciation databases).

The Pronunciation Panel

It is also possible to browse the entire Pronunciation databases by opening the Pronunciation tool.

  • Click on "Tools".
  • Select "Pronunciation".
  • Choose a pronunciation database (right).
  • Type the desired word in the "Find" field, or browse the list.
  • Click the word to hear it pronounced.

There are two pronunciation styles for Greek and one for Hebrew. Switch between them by clicking the drop-menu at the top of the panel. This setting will effect pronunciation everywhere in Logos.

 

Greek Pronunciation in other panels

The pronunciation tool is also be available in other panels, like Exegetical Guide or Bible Word Study Guide, represented by a speaker icon . Click the icon to hear the word pronounced. It will use the pronunciation style selected in the Pronunciation Panel.
