Installing Logos Downloading Resources Using the Library

Logos Bible Software performs automatic updates to ensure the application and your resources are always up to date. Updates can include new features, feature improvements, bug fixes, typo fixes, additional resource tagging (better search results), etc. This feature is also responsible for downloading new resources you might purchase.
It is recommended to leave it enabled in order to receive any important updates or new products, but it can be managed or disabled if desired.

Accessing Logos Update & Internet Settings

  • Click on the "Tools" menu.
  • Choose "Program Settings" in the center column.
  • Scroll down to the "Internet" section.

Understanding the Options

Use Internet enables Logos to connect to the internet. This is required for updates, sync, community services and web resources. Setting to "Yes" is strongly recommended.

Automatically download Updates allows Logos to download updates on its own. Logos must be open in order to download updates. If disabled, Logos will prompt to download updates, but will not begin the download, meaning you will need to start the download manually.

Download Between, only visible if "Automatically Download Updates" is enabled, this option allows scheduling of automatic updates within a 24 hour period. The default setting is "Midnight and Midnight" (any time). To restrict downloads to a specific time of day, change the setting to reflect the desired time (e.g. 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM).

Show Community Ratings toggles the community ratings feature in the Library.

Show Community Tags toggles the community tags feature in the Library.

Send Feedback sets what types of user feedback is sent to Logos. Feedback allows us to see how features and resources are commonly used. This helps us develop better tools for future updates and upgrades (Privacy Policy).

Tip: Trying to avoid Indexing?

Downloading new resources and resource updates will require indexing. Without indexing, those resources will not be searchable. The amount of indexing is relative to the size and amount of books being added or updated.
We understand that it can be inconvenient to start indexing while beginning a new study session. You can avoid immediate indexing, without disabling updates, by waiting to restart Logos until your are finished with your study. After indexing begins, you can close the main application window, but be sure to leave your computer on until the indexing process completes.
