Deleting the Libronix system cache

Refreshing Resources or Deleting the Libronix System Cache

Problem

The Libronix system cache keeps track of all the books Libronix has discovered on your hard drive or resource disc(s).  If Libronix is experiencing any of the symptoms below, the system cache may need to be refreshed, or the Cache folder manually deleted:

  • The Location Manager appears to copy books but book titles continue to appear in the Location Manager window to be copied.
  • Some books will only open from My Library with a resource disc in the drive, even though it appears that the book has been copied.
  • The notice "Discovering Resources" never appears at the lower-right corner of the Libronix window when a disc is placed in the drive.
  • No resources are listed for copying in the Location Manager.
  • Book files have been deleted from C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources, but the titles are still listed in My Library.
  • The Libronix Update initialization process takes longer than usual.
  • Libronix opens more slowly than it has in the past.

Solution 1

Refresh resources and allow Libronix to rediscover resources the next time the program is opened.  However, before attempting the solution in this article you should check the Location Manager settings according to the following article:

http://www.logos.com/ArticleViewer/320

To refresh resources:

  1. In Libronix, click on Tools | Options | General | Resource Paths.
  2. Click on the Refresh Resources button and click OK.
  3. Close Libronix, wait at least 15 seconds, then open Libronix.
  4. Watch for the words "Discovering Resources" to appear in the lower-right corner of the Libronix window. (If you do not see these words, close Libronix, reboot your computer, and reopen Libronix.) When the words go away, reattempt the action that was failing.  If the problem has not been resolved, follow the steps under Solution 2.

 Solution 2
