The Libronix logo (splash screen) stays on screen when attempting to run Libronix

 

Problem:

 

The Libronix logo (splash screen) stays on screen when attempting to run Libronix, or the program opens very slowly and when it opens appears to be locked up.

 

Solution:

 

There are 3 possible solutions; try them in the following order: 

Check to see if Libronix is running in Compatibility mode:

  • Right-click the Libronix shortcut on the desktop and click Properties
  • Now click on the Compatibility tab and make sure the box Run this program in compatibility mode for  is unchecked.  Also make sure that Display Settings are unchecked.  Now try Libronix; if that did not fix the problem, try the next solution.

Delete Temporary Internet files:

  • Click on Start I Control Panel I Internet Options.
  • On the General tab you will see the section Browsing history (IE 7). Click on the Delete button. (IE 6: Temporary Internet Files.  Click on the Delete Files button.)
  • Under Temporary Internet Files click on the Delete files button and click Yes. Click Close when complete, then OK. (IE 6: Check the Delete all offline content box and click OK.  Click OK when complete.) 
  • Reopen Libronix and see if this has solved the problem.  If it has not, go on to the next solution.

Rename User Preferences:

Windows XP:

  • Open My Computer and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Libronix DLS\Library. If the Application Data folder is not visible, you will need to change the windows setting so you can see hidden folders:
    • Click on Tools | Folder Options. Click on the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders, and click OK
  • Right-click on the Preferences folder, choose Rename, and change the folder name to OldPreferences; press Enter.
  • Open Libronix. If it is performing properly, leave the new Preferences folder and delete OldPreferences. If the performance has not improved, close Libronix, delete the new Preferences folder and rename OldPreferences back to its original name.

Windows Vista:

  • Open Computer and navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Libronix DLS\Library. If the AppData folder is not visible, you will need to change the windows setting so you can see hidden folders:
    • Click on Organize | Folder and Search Options. Click on the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders, and click OK
  • Right-click on the Preferences folder, choose Rename, and change the folder name to OldPreferences; press Enter.
  • Open Libronix. If it is performing properly, leave the new Preferences folder and delete OldPreferences. If the performance has not improved, close Libronix, delete the new Preferences folder and rename OldPreferences back to its original name.
