Because the Bible came into being in a different age, many readers have difficulty understanding its details. A Bible dictionary, defining and clarifying unfamiliar names, places, and objects, is an indispensable tool for the Bible student. Since its introduction in 1957, the Unger's Bible Dictionary has proved its value as an authoritative reference work. Prepared by Merrill F. Unger, Th.D., Ph.D., this volume has been a long-standing favorite among students of the Bible. Today, after years of exhaustive revisions and updates, The New Unger's Bible Dictionary offers up-to-date scholarship. Cross-referencing and bibliographies make this information easily accessible, no matter which Bible translation you choose. Due to copyright constraints this edition does not include photographs.
Baptism and Gifts of the Holy Spirit
by Merrill Frederick Unger
The charismatic movement, with its emphasis on Spirit baptism and the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, has become one of the most prominent features of twentieth-century Christianity. In Baptism and Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Unger traces the doctrine of the baptism of the Spirit through the New Testament. In the final two chapters he puts the doctrine into its proper place with respect to spiritual gifts and the experiences of the Holy Spirit's power for Christian living.
What Demons Can Do to Saints
by Merrill Frederick Unger
Christians can’t be afflicted by demons . . . or can they? A groundbreaking work on the topic, Unger reveals Biblical principals that refute this thinking and rattles the cages of Christians who believe they are exempt from demonic attacks. Faithful followers of God aren’t merely susceptible to demonic attacks, but are likely targets. We fight a spiritual war against an enemy whose power we don’t typically understand, but being aware and alert can empower us for the imminent attacks. With wisdom and urgency, this book delivers crucial answers, not sensationalism—helping us to realize not only who and what we are up against, but that through Christ, we can overcome. Written over 30 years ago, the wisdom revealed in this book is even more applicable in today’s culture.
