Sebastian Dabovich was born in 1863 in San Francisco to Serbian immigrants. He left home for Russia at the age of 21 to prepare for life as a missionary priest. His missionary activities sent him across North America, Russia, and Eastern Europe. He served as chaplain in the Serbian army in the Balkan Wars and World War I. Throughout his life he founded numerous churches and authored several books. He spent the last years of his life serving the church in his parents native Serbia, where he died in 1940.
