Overview

For nearly 30 years, the Journal of Biblical Counseling (previously the Journal of Pastoral Practice) of CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) has provided a forum for biblical counseling’s development and application. The journal’s mission is to develop clear thinking and effective practice in biblical counseling through articles that faithfully bring the God of truth, mercy, and power to the issues faced by ministries of counseling and discipleship.

Top Highlights

“The real solution to loneliness then lies not in marriage or in any human relationship. The solution lies in the redemption of our relationship with God. It lies in our union with Christ. Through Christ we are reunited to God and this, in turn, leads to our union with one another.” (Volume 29, Number 1, Page 11)

“We all know what it is like to feel entitled. It happens when our desires—even desires for good things—turn perverse” (Volume 29, Number 1, Page 19)

“The key—the primary clue—is the punishing attitude of the entitled toward others” (Volume 29, Number 1, Page 21)

“In sum, entitled people have a uniquely severe worship problem” (Volume 29, Number 1, Page 28)

“But, in fact, there is a choice before me, whether or not I see it in the moment. I can give into my belief that I deserve rest, and respond out of frustration and anger. Or I can place those desires aside and care for my child’s needs and do what is best for her.” (Volume 29, Number 1, Page 19)
