For nearly 30 years, the Journal of Biblical Counseling (previously the Journal of Pastoral Practice) of CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) has provided a forum for biblical counseling’s development and application. The journal’s mission is to develop clear thinking and effective practice in biblical counseling through articles that faithfully bring the God of truth, mercy, and power to the issues faced by ministries of counseling and discipleship.
“A pleasure that is not wrong in itself becomes stained when it results in sins of omission.” (Page 29)
“But the fourth commandment orients you with respect to God. He alone brings into focus the complex issues of work and rest. He alone fundamentally changes why you do what you do. As you come to love Him who loves you, He remakes you—sane.” (Page 22)
“To get hard work and sweet pleasure right is to image forth the One who made you. To get hard work and sweet pleasure right is to image forth the One who saved you.” (Page 23)
“Hiding what you are doing and the time you spend doing it is another clear tip-off” (Page 28)
“If your goal is to solve your loneliness, you will end up using people as I did.” (Page 10)
