Overview

For nearly 30 years, the Journal of Biblical Counseling (previously the Journal of Pastoral Practice) of CCEF (the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) has provided a forum for biblical counseling’s development and application. The journal’s mission is to develop clear thinking and effective practice in biblical counseling through articles that faithfully bring the God of truth, mercy, and power to the issues faced by ministries of counseling and discipleship.

Top Highlights

“Biblical counseling is built on a simple, enduring principle: the triune God has spoken to us through the Scripture.” (Page 3)

“What do you do that perpetuates conflict? Why do you fight? How can you pursue reconciliation? Real change happens when biblical truth and personal honesty intersect in repentance, faith, and obedience.” (Page 32)

“We judge others—criticize, nit-pick, nag, attack, condemn—because we literally play God.” (Page 34)

“My present perspective is that biblical counseling is a hybrid of discipleship and biblical friendship, neither of which can be mistaken for a passing fad.” (Page 2)

“—the horizontal sins register and express the vertical sins.” (Page 37)
