Overview

Institutes of Ecclesiastical History is a welcome addition to any biblical scholar’s reference library. This ambitious collection eloquently and pragmatically provides a comprehensive history of the Christian religion and the church from its inception to the eighteenth century. Originally written in Latin, these titles were widely accessible and used by scholars of multiple nationalities, making them frequently-read and highly popular. Consulting original manuscripts and well-respected authorities in the creation of his ecclesiastical history, John Laurence von Mosheim took the utmost care to provide a work that exhibited the history with “purity and integrity.”

Lots of good information can be found in this set. Yes written around 1850. But getting so much information in a set. I love the table at the ened that gives you information on events including Remarkable Persons and Doctrines & Corruptions The first entry for 33AD has Simon Magus as a corruption. Mentioned in Acts. Each Centry has a listing for History of Religious Separations or Heresies. It provides information that leads you to seek more information.
