Overview

Life Hurts. The people in this book can prove it by their firsthand experiences. Hurt, Healing, and Happy Again narrates 15 life-changing stories: Dr. Benjamin Carson journeys from a troubled childhood in inner-city Detroit to become a world-renowned neurosurgeon; pastor Noble Alexander clings to hope in Christ while suffering 22 years for his faith in a Cuban dungeon; and Joy Swift forgives the teen who murdered her children. These and many more stories illustrate grace-based Bible doctrine and showcase God’s loving providence in unique healings of the heart. Martin Weber’s pastoral wisdom rounds out each chapter with comments and questions encouraging personal reflection and group discussion.

The Logos edition enhances these stories with helpful digital functionality. Scripture citations appear on mouseover in your preferred English translation. Read these stories side by side with relevant scripture passages. The fully indexed texts enable instant search results. Keep connected with your small group with Faithlife and take the discussion with you using tablet and mobile apps.
