Overview

Some questions seem to plague us. But there is hope. God has revealed himself in His Word through stories and poetry about real people in real situations. God is not afraid of our questions and doubts, in fact, He longs to answer them. Dr. Jeremiah’s selection of several Psalms guides our discovery of the answers to ten tough questions Christians ask.

Top Highlights

“other words, the ‘angel of the Lord’ is the Christ of the New Testament operating in the Old Testament” (Page 62)

“What makes people different from every other creative work on earth? ‘God created man in His own image’ (Genesis 1:27). When God created people, He created them to respond to God. God possesses intellect, emotion, and will; and He created people with intellect, emotion, and will so that He could walk in the garden with the first people and talk with them and commune with them. No other creature knows that kind of intimate, personal fellowship with God in heaven. And so it is true to say that man is only man in relationship to God.” (Page 10)

“Someone has described the walk as a reference to those things we decide on a daily basis. The standing is a reference to making a commitment. The sitting is a settled attitude of lifestyle. First we make little decisions that are minus God. Then we make commitments that cement those decisions. And then finally we settle into the lifestyle of a life without God.” (Page 33)

“You cannot understand who you are and why you are here until you understand the Creator. The theme of Psalm 8 blazes across the first and last verses of this hymn. ‘O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!” (Page 10)

“‘encamp’ literally means to fortify you, build a hedge around you, and protect you in the midst of every fearful experience.” (Page 63)
