Overview

George Mason was such an influential Founding Father that he has been titled “The Father of the Bill of Rights.” All Americans have benefited from his efforts, for it is the Bill of Rights that protects many of our inalienable rights, including freedoms of religion, speech, and the press, the right to keep and bear arms, etc. Yet despite the fact that no one is more responsible for the Bill of Rights than George Mason, he is probably one of the least known Founding Fathers.
