About the Author

Farid ad-Din Attar often wrote under the pseudonym, ʿAṭṭār (the perfumer), Abū Ḥamīd bin Abū Bakr Ibrāhīm (1110–1221) had a profound influence on Persian writing and Sufism. Little is known of his life, save for his writings.
