Overview

Immortality and the Future surveys the idea of a future life and the Bible’s teaching on immortality. It is a first guide to those who are studying eschatology and who wish to do so in the full light of history and faith. H.R. Mackintosh divides his study into two parts. The first traces the historical development of the doctrine through different faiths, Judaism, and the teachings of Jesus, the apostles, and the church. The second part is a reconstructive statement of the doctrine in the light of scholarship from various Christian sources.
