Overview

The Five Offerings of Leviticus show how Jesus Christ is portrayed in the offerings set forth in this Old Testament Book. You'll understand the significance of the Burnt Offering, the Meat Offering, the Sin Offering, the Trepass Offering, and the Peace Offering.

Top Highlights

“The Hebrew word for ‘Meat Offering’ is minchah, and it means a gift given by an inferior to a superior. This Offering is therefore equivalent to a gift of homage, which recognizes the superiority of him to whom it is offered and ceremonially promises loyal obedience to him.” (Page 29)

“Eve’s failure was a catastrophe too, needless to say, but her sin alone would not have ruined things for the whole human race had Adam stood his ground against Eve’s weakness before the Tempter. If Adam himself had not fallen, Eve could have asked God’s forgiveness and the terrible curse of sinfulness would not have passed to her offspring. That is the reason Jesus could be born of the Virgin Mary and yet not be tainted by man’s Fall.” (Page 14)

“Sin can only be dealt with through a change of heart, and only God Himself can get to our hearts.” (Page 24)

“When Jesus uttered those words, every Jew there knew exactly what he was talking about. They knew that He was referring to the Tabernacle gate of old. They knew He was referring to the fence that guarded the Tabernacle from intruders. They knew that He was referring to the door that led the way to the Brazen Altar and the sacrifices and that He was saying,‘I am the Sacrifice; I am the Way; I am the Way to God.’” (Page 17)

“It was our sins that nailed Jesus Christ to the tree. Each and every one of us had our share in that horrible, bloody death that He had to suffer. The Lord Jesus Christ did not die for His sins; He died for our sins.” (Page 23)
