Overview

Over the last two millennia, the Christian church has seen dynamic changes in practices, interpretations, and the way it interacts with the world. While the core beliefs remain rooted in Jesus Christ, the Christian church emerged into denominations and historically has stood on both sides of conquest. A Concise History of the Christian Church provides detailed century-by-century coverage of the Christian church, from the life of Jesus Christ to nineteenth-century Christians and everything in between, including the persecution of Christians, the Crusades, the rise of Catholicism, Luther, Calvin, and more. James Sabine drew from the best sources available to provide the most in-depth historical look at Christianity that the nineteenth century could produce. The third edition includes substantial additions and revisions, giving you access to even more events, people, and places that were crucial to shaping the Christian church into the body we know today.

With the Logos edition, A Concise History of the Christian Church becomes an even more powerful reference tool. Search key phrases, events, people, and topics to find every discussion of them in your library and gain a deeper understanding of the history of the Christian church.
