The books of the Bible were not written in a modern language, but in ancient languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek). As with many languages, these languages are described in books called grammars. Unlike many languages, these grammars are typically restricted to the Biblical text and not general use. Because of this they have many references to the Biblical text. Examining what available grammars have to say about the language phenomenon in a particular Bible verse can help one in understanding the language, but it can also provide help in understanding the Biblical text.
