From the Preface: This work is not intended to be an exposé. It is prepared as a brief guidebook to modern religious faiths in order that the hurried and perplexed in our busy age may quickly learn what are the main characteristics of the principal new religions which now flourish among us. Although these sketches are written from the standpoint of a conservative Christian believer, an earnest at tempt has been made to write with fairness and Christian charity without ever forgetting the heavy debt of loyalty which every Christian owes to our Lord Jesus Christ and to the historic Christian faith.—Charles Ewing Brown
