Overview

There are few other topics on which Christians are so divided. And a large majority of believers are unclear about what spiritual language really means. This is a balanced, biblical approach for anyone wanting to make an honest inquiry into the nature of speaking in tongues. Hayford debunks common myths surrounding the practice of tongues and shares with readers the beauty and the order of spiritual language that he has discovered during his times of private communion with God.

Top Highlights

“In her testimony she later told how her awareness was more of the presence of Christ Himself than of her speaking with tongues.” (Page 31)

“When they preached, somehow Christ not only was declared, He was revealed” (Page 26)

“Because he was correcting an abusive practice of tongues, for many the sole context of the theme has remained negative. This is an unfortunate conclusion, seeing that the apostle was obviously seeking to preserve the practice through correction, not prohibit it by condemnation.” (Page 11)

“There are at least three blessed additional benefits in an ongoing private use of spiritual language; that is, three in addition to the two we’ve discussed earlier—expanded worship and enabled warfare.” (Page 123)

“He never intended spiritual language as a proof, but that He has offered it as a provision—a resource for readiness in prayer and praise.” (Page 89)
