I was encouraged to read this book by a good friend and Pastor, who read it at Seminary. When I noted that it was published in 1961 (the same year I was born) I thought that maybe it would be "too conservative" or "too out-of-date". I was pleasantly supplied. This was a good, easy read - in fact reminds me of many of the books of F F Bruce that I grew up with and still enjoy. Whilst this book does have a Lutheran and a Conservative bias, the Author does make know many of the alternate views and has brief discussions about them. So my bias is that I basically agree with the Author on most if not all points, and so feel refreshed after reading this book :)
