Overview

It may be the loss of a job, the betrayal of a spouse, the death of a child, or—as in the case of David Jeremiah—a diagnosis of life-threatening disease. When your world falls apart without warning, where is God?

Less than a heartbeat away, according to Dr. David Jeremiah. When life suddenly turns upside down, there, in the midst of our trials and in the center of our pain, is God—comforting, guiding, encouraging, teaching, sustaining.

In this perceptive and deeply personal book, Dr. Jeremiah draws from the beautiful poetry and deep truths of the Psalms—passages that gave him comfort and strength on his journey into the unknown. As he identified the traumatic events that inspired the writing of the ten well-loved psalms included in these pages, Dr. Jeremiah found his focus changing: Instead of asking "Why?" he began to ask "What, O Lord? What do you have to teach me? What would you have me do?"

Interwoven with his own reflections and insights are the inspiring real-life stories of other men and women who have faced unexpected adversity—and found that God's grace truly is sufficient for every need.

I love the writings of Dr. David Jeremiah. He is my favorite preacher. Every Bible student should have all his writings. I purchased his "Works" years ago and now I have them in Logos format.
