About N.T. Wright

N.T. Wright has been named by Christianity Today as one of today’s top theologians. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theology, Masters in Anglican ministry, and DPhil from University of Oxford.

He was a fellow and chaplain at Cambridge from 1978 to 1981, and then served as assistant professor of New Testament language and literature at McGill University in Montreal. Before becoming a chaplain, tutor, lecturer, and fellow at Oxford in 1986, Wright served as dean of Lichfield Cathedral, canon theologian of Westminster Abbey, and bishop of Durham. Wright is currently professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at St. Andrews University.

Some of Wright’s titles, which are also published under the name Tom Wright, include Christian Origins and the Question of God Series (4 vols.), of which four more volumes are expected, and the For Everyone Series. Wright is also known for his scholarly contributions to the historical study of Jesus and the “New Perspective on Paul.” The Works of N.T. Wright (48 vols.) combines 48 of Wright’s works including the For Everyone Series, and Twelve Months of Sundays: Reflections on Bible Readings series.

REven reading the first line of the descrition for this product is painful,"Reflect on the Revised Common Lectionary with one of today’s greatest theologians—N.T. Wright."one of today's greatest theologians? hardly. why use superlatives to categorizea "theologian" anyway? likely not what was in mind w passages such as :16So the last will be first, and the first will be last”(Matthew 20:16). or, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" ( James 4:6).Logos Editor's, please don't use superlative adjectives to describe servants of the church and in so doing, tempt readers ever so subtly towards being recognized by people for what they do, God sees God knows and He will reward all who serve by His grace through faith alone. I realize they are but a few words but when I read them they cut me as purely carnal as they can be, not to mention Wright's " most noticeable work" has consisted largely of a questionable and controversial nature, greatest theologian? tears, tears, tears.
