Overview

No one can deny that the world is in trouble. Tragedy stalks our streets. Violence and bloodshed fill the news. Today's political debates spotlight the deep and bitter divisions in a society that often seems to be coming apart at the seams. How do we explain so much chaos? How do we live with such turmoil? Is there any hope for peace in our time?

Dr. David Jeremiah's dramatic narrative on the Book of Revelation answers these and many more challenging questions, guilding the reader on an electrifying tour of a world careening headlong into climactic times. His perceptive analysis of what many have called "the most ignored and the most misunderstood book in the Bible" proves that we are living in the very time described in St. John the Apostle in the amazing prophecies.

Skeptics call it myth, New Agers call it symbolism, and atheists call it meaningless fiction. Yet for two thousand years it has been considered one of the most compelling books ever written and a powerful lighthouse to a world in chaos, but its treasures may be claimed only by those who have ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit of God declares.

Escape the Coming Night is shocking and eye-opening but always uplifting. It is one of this century's clearest and most logical commentaries on the Book of Revelation and a vital message for our age.

Essential reading for a world on the brink of destiny.

“This is a tale of two Babylons, one mystical and one material. Babylon—wealthy, intriguing, and immoral—is mentioned more times in the Bible than any other city, with the exception of Jerusalem.” (Page 285)

“What a gloomy backdrop! No wonder the question is asked, ‘… who is able to stand?’ (Revelation 6:17). Who can put up with these catastrophes without completely losing his mind? God knows the answer. He dispatches His special messengers in time of trouble.” (Page 200)

“The scarlet woman represents an apostate religious system that will combine weak protestantism with Catholicism, spiritualism, humanism, and the occult into one great satanic connection.” (Pages 296–297)

“Phase Two will take place at the end of a seven-year period after the Rapture, when Christ returns to reign over His earthly kingdom.” (Page 22)

“Like Smyrna, Philadelphia had no word of condemnation. This church had right doctrine and right living going hand in hand. Where doctrine is present, without love, it is legalism; where love is present without doctrine, it is humanism.” (Page 97)
