Whether through hurtful words, degrading looks, obscene gestures, or threatening behaviors abuse inflicts immense pain and impedes emotional growth. We have all been wounded by hurtful words and actions of others, often carrying a wounded heart for a lifetime. That’s why the truths set out in this series are so important. It’s possible to stop the pain of abuse.
The Biblical Counseling Keys Series provides tools to help people breach spiritual barriers on their way to freedom in Christ. Each of the Keys presents God’s heart on specific issues and reveals ways to walk in spiritual victory in a simple, easy-to-read outline format. This is an ideal resource for pastors, teachers, counselors, or those involved in personal or group Bible studies.
In this volume, June Hunt discusses:
There is no better person to help a victim than one who has been victimized, and who is now victorious. Whether you’re living with abuse—or helping someone who is—this biblical resource provides hope and practical help for permanent healing.
—Robert McGee, author, The Search for Significance
I’ve known June Hunt for more than 20 years. She is exceptionally thorough and biblical counselor whose work I enthusiastically recommend. Over the years, I have referred many of the abuse victims I’ve worked with to June, and they have benefitted greatly from her teaching on the subject of abuse.
—Carolyn Best, Abuse Victim Counselor, Exchanged Life Ministries, Texas
June Hunt is a dynamic Christian leader whose life work has yielded landmark contributions in the field of Christian counseling. An author, singer, and speaker, she founded Hope For The Heart in 1986. Throughout the two decades since then, the organization has offered hope and help through biblically-based counsel and encouragement to people in 26 countries.
After years of teaching and research, she developed Counseling Through The Bible, a scripturally-based counseling course addressing approximately 100 topics, such as marriage and parenting, depression and anger, and stress and suicide. Inspired by this course, June authored and published the Biblical Counseling Keys, an in-depth, topical counseling library designed to “move people from wrong thinking to right thinking . . . and from wrong living to right living.”
June is a popular guest professor at colleges and seminaries and a sought-after conference speaker. She teaches and speaks nationally and internationally on topics such as crisis counseling, child abuse, wife abuse, homosexuality, forgiveness, singleness, and self-worth. She is also a popular speaker at religious and broadcasting events. She has written numerous books, including Seeing Yourself through God’s Eyes, Healing the Hurting Heart, Bonding with Your Teen through Boundaries, Caring for a Loved One with Cancer, How to Forgive . . . When You Don’t Feel Like It, and many others.
