Praise for the Print Edition

This book is meant as a handy reference guide for students who have had introductory Akkadian. [It] is designed as a bridge between introductory Akkadian grammars and full grammars to “streamline” the progression from signs to transliteration, to normalization, and to translation.

Tammi J. Schneider, professor, Claremont Graduate School

Miller and Shipp have done a great service to all who need orientation in the basic features of the Akkadian language and its cuneiform writing system. They have compiled here what in the past most beginning students have had to assemble for themselves. An enormous amount of painstaking work has gone into the production of this handy manual. It will easily repay its cost to any student of the Akkadian language.

Harry A. Hoffner Jr., professor of Hittitology, Princeton University
