Overview

On its release, the two volume A People’s History of Christianity was lauded for its commitment to raising awareness of the ways in which ordinary Christians have lived throughout more than twenty centuries of Christian history. Now, the essential material from that important project is available for classroom use.

This one volume edition contains carefully selected sections from Janz’s original content that helps students directly engage the most significant events and questions about Christian history from a social perspective. Covering the entire scope of church history. It provides a valuable overview on such topics as birth and death, marriage and family life, baptism rites, food, power, heresy, and more. Students are both informed and inspired by seeing the importance of ordinary Christians in shaping Christianity across time.

In the Logos edition, this volume is enhanced by amazing functionality. Important terms link to dictionaries, encyclopedias, and a wealth of other resources in your digital library. It's worth noting that this book is a condensed version of a two-volume work by Janz intended for the general reader, and a six-volume work that goes into much greater detail about specific eras, cultures, and geographic locations. The perspective Janz approaches the conversation with is social rather than focused on big ideas, events, or prominent figures. Hope that helps a bit. Enjoy the book!

Has anyone read this? Wondering about how its written. Will look at samples, but that doesn't mean isn't written from a "slant".
