Overview

Robert Mounce has written some of the most trusted commentaries for pastors and scholars and participated in the translataion of celebrated Bibles including the NIV, NLT, and ESV. This selection of some of his best works combines his world-class scholarship with down-to-earth application—perfect for any Christian who wants to apply the truth of Scripture to everyday life.

In The Essential Nature of New Testament Preaching, Mounce upholds the importance of preaching, arguing that it has been and always will be God’s primary means of bringing the gospel to the world. In So They Say, he confronts the postmodern worldview by liberally quoting some of its most noteworthy proponents and referencing the insights of some of history’s greatest minds. His profound reflections—informed by decades of life and ministry experience—demonstrate the explanatory power of the Christian message.

This collection also includes four of Mounce’s popular-level New Testament commentaries. He analyzes 1 and 2 Timothy, 1 and 2 Peter, Romans, and Revelation in-depth—without getting bogged down in exegetical minutia. By bridging the cultural divide between the original readers and the modern Christian, Mounce unveils the profound relevance of the Bible for today.

When will the Essential Nature of New Testament Preaching be available on mobile? It is very convenient in the job I have to take my mobile device with me and read the texts for class work and to stay ahead of assignments. Thanks for your help.

So glad to see a couple of the "Bible Commentary For Laymen" series coming to Logos! I think this was one of the best affordable, down-to-earth commentaries ever compiled! I'd love to see the whole series made available!
