This volume contains a collection of R.A. Torrey’s sermons, preached between autumn of 1916 and spring of 1917 at The Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles, California, amidst the trials and anxieties of World War I. With titles including “God’s Guidance and How to Get It,” “Why I Believe That Jesus Christ Is God in Human Form,” and “The Secret of Abiding Peace, Abounding Joy, and Abundant Victory in War Times and at All Times,” there are points of insight that still resonate strongly with readers.
