Robert H. Stein was senior professor of New Testament interpretation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He previously taught at Bethel Seminary. A world-renowned scholar of the Synoptic Gospels, he is the author of several books, including Jesus the Messiah, Mark in the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament series, and Luke in the New American Commentary series.

A Basic Guide to Interpreting the Bible: Playing by the Rules is one of the leading textbook that helped me interpret the Bible. I came across this wonderful book during my unit course with Robert H. Stein on hermeneutic. This book will be classic.

Robert Stein's "Studying the Synoptic Gospels" is probably the best college textbook on the issue of the synoptic problem. Makes the argument for Markan priority and the 4-source hypothesis easy to comprehend for any reader, with many columns comparing the texts of the Synoptic Gospels.
