Overview

Every believer faces trials that test and shake their faith. Standing in the Shaking, by Bible lecturer Jac Colón, is about standing strong in the midst of those trials. This book explores the imagery of the trembling mountain scene where Moses approached the presence of God at Mt. Sinai, building a framework to address the mental battles Christians face in times of trial. Jac Colón has passionately offered insightful teachings on the book of Revelation for over 35 years, and this book is no exception. Standing in the Shaking examines what Revelation has to say about the trials still to come. Through this valuable resource, Colón provides the wisdom to face these battles and develop the mental discipline Christians need to stand in the shaking.

The sample pages are enough to make me cautious about this work. Colón appears to take a simplistic view of Revelation (e.g. arguing that 3:15 has Jesus *wanting* people to be ‘cold’ and outside the church). His secondary sources are exclusively Seventh-Day Adventist.
