About William R. Newell

William R. Newell (1868–1956) studied at Princeton and Oberlin seminaries. He served as pastor of Bethesda Congregational Church in Chicago and assistant superintendent of Moody Bible Institute under R. A. Torrey. He is most recognized for his commentaries, including Romans: Verse by Verse and The Book of Revelation.
