Seeing the Unseen: Cultivate a Faith that Unveils the Hidden Presence of God

NavPress 2011

Runs on Windows, Mac and mobile.

Sometimes God seems a bit hazy, even imperceptible, in your busy day-to-day life. Sure, your faith tells you he’s present in the world, but what if you could truly recognize God as being right next to you every moment? What if your faith could deepen beyond what you can see to a richer level of experiencing the invisible hand of God in your relationships, work, and play?

Through fresh, insightful writing, author and Bible teacher T. W. Hunt helps you acquire keen spiritual eyesight for looking past the natural world and physical senses to perceive and trust your always-present God. Dr. Hunt wisely leads you to depend on God’s Spirit in embracing the nearness of the Great Unseen.

The Logos Bible Software edition of this volume is designed to encourage and stimulate your study and understanding of spiritual disciplines. Scripture passages link directly to your English translations and to the original language texts, and important concepts link to dictionaries, encyclopedias, and a wealth of other resources in your digital library. In addition, you can perform powerful searches by topic and find what other authors, scholars, and theologians have to say about faith, meditation, and Christlikeness.

Praise for the Print Edition

For the last 18 years, I have observed T. W. Hunt closely. He is a man of deep and sincere prayer. He knows the faith walk well, and this book points the way for all of us to see the unseen. The physical universe is dominated by forces we cannot see, and our life in Christ rides on the wings of faith that sees the unseen realities of God’s purposes for us. These pages will draw you into a deeper life of faith and enable you to see what you cannot see.

—Jimmy Draper, former president, Southern Baptist Convention

This is a book about the infinite, eternal, on-the-move God of holiness and love, who wants to give us something we all desperately need: himself. T. W. Hunt is a master of the spiritual life and leads us to a deep appropriation of the gift of transforming faith. This is a book for everyone who loves Jesus and wants to know him better.

Timothy George, dean, Beeson Divinity School, Samford University

The writings of T. W. Hunt have been used of God for many years to strengthen and encourage believers toward a greater love for him and a deeper piety. This most recent work, Seeing the Unseen, is certainly no exception. In fact, it addresses matters of faith and spiritual formation with pastoral sensitivity and conviction of our loving Trinitarian God. Important theological truths are communicated clearly and accessibly for a wide readership. I trust that this marvelously helpful volume will be used of God in days to come to influence and shape a generation of Christ followers in their walk with God so that they will be better equipped to make a difference for the cause of Christ and his kingdom.

David Dockery, president, Union University

The reader of Seeing the Unseen has the rare privilege of climbing the mountain of truth with a trusted guide, Dr. T. W. Hunt. He is the greatest embodiment of Christlike nobility I have ever known. His years of intimacy with Jesus help us seek God and see his invisible ways and works. So many are like Israel, seeing the acts of God but not knowing his ways, as Moses did. T. W. Hunt has been a spiritual mentor and father to me for almost 35 years. He will guide you into the rarefied air of true faith that he has been believing for years. The view is worth the climb. Sit at his feet; follow in his steps. You will want to read this book again and again.

—Hayes Wicker, senior pastor, First Baptist Church, Naples, FL
