With candor and humor, one woman shares the true story of her many attempts to gain sobriety—including riding her bike one thousand miles from Michigan to Texas. Sherry worked in a ministry, directed a children’s choir, and was a respected member of society, all while addicted to alcohol for over ten years. When she came to the end of her attempts at sobriety and surrendered it to God, she never looked back. Sober Cycle offers hope without judgment or trite mantras, assuring readers that they, too, can find redemption and healing in a life free from addiction—all without riding a bike for thousands of miles. Sherry Hoppen has lived in West Michigan her entire life, never more than five miles from her childhood home. She worked in various areas of a pregnancy care ministry for over ten years, first as a volunteer, then as an employee. She and her husband have three adult children and three grandsons and love being active in whatever they are doing. As empty nesters, they enjoy cycling and finding new trails to cycle together. Sherry is an avid reader who enjoys writing, decorating, and spending time on Michigan’s beautiful beaches.
