Overview

Paul Westermeyer here puts into print five lectures delivered at a church music conference in 2000. These lectures are about church music and its relation to the assembly of the church gathered around font, word, and table before the Trinity. He treats church music as praise, prayer, proclamation, story, and gift of God. Westermeyer bypasses our preoccupation with the how of musicmaking to focus on the “what” of it all: The Heart of the Matter.
