Charles Roads (b. 1855) was an ordained pastor in the Methodist Episcopalian Church with a doctorate in divinity. Thoroughly interested in Christian social ethics and sociology, his numerous books expressed his lifelong research and insight into those topics. His other works include Rural Christendom, Christ Enthroned in the Industrial World, The Man with a Conscience, and Studies for Immigrants; A Reader for Second Year’s Work.
