Top Highlights

“A sculptor once carved a magnificent lion out of a solid block of stone. When asked how he had accomplished such a marvelous masterpiece, he had a simple answer. ‘That’s easy,’ he said. ‘All I did was to chip away everything that didn’t look like a lion.’ Through the pressures of life, the Lord chips away those things in our lives that don’t look like Jesus Christ.” (Page 362)

“Jeremiah tells us the secret of change. It is locked up in two little letters, ‘un.’ It is time to reverse the negative actions and habits that are keeping us from becoming intimate with God. It is time to change, and with God’s help we can. With God’s help we will.” (Page 313)

“It isn’t what we have, but what we enjoy that makes for a rich life, and the wise person understands that contentment is not having everything we want, but enjoying everything we have.” (Page 214)

“‘As a mother, my job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible.’” (Page 130)

“‘All there is of God is available to the man who is available to all there is of God.’” (Page 312)
