Overview

Hebrews was written for Jewish believers torn between their new faith and their old routines and rituals. Lucado explains that Christianity, God's New Covenant is better in every way than the Old Covenant. With scripture reading, inspirational readings, questions to answer, space for journaling, and a prayer, it's like studying the Bible with Max Lucado.

“In reading carefully through the New Testament to see just what kind of an experience you can expect, I find that the New Testament sets forth only one. There is just one experience for which you can look—only one feeling you can expect—and that is the experience of faith.” (Page 22)

“The purpose of the Bible? Salvation. God’s highest passion is to get his children home. His book, the Bible, describes his plan of salvation. The purpose of the Bible is to proclaim God’s plan and passion to save his children.” (Page 6)

“Bible says that a man is ‘justified by faith’ and not by feeling. A man is saved by trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross and not by physical excitement or religious ecstasy.” (Page 22)

“To understand the Bible you don’t have to be brilliant, but you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and search.” (Page 6)

“To knock is to ask, What can I do? How can I obey? Where can I go?” (Page 6)
