Overview

The Letteris Hebrew Bible provides a full audio reading of the Hebrew Bible, from Genesis to Malachi. This audio Bible is based on the Letteris edition of the Masoretic text, produced in 1866 for the British and Foreign Bible Society by Max Letteris, a poety and printer from Amsterdam. His edition of the Hebrew Bible became very popular and widely reprinted in both Jewish circles and Christian circles. This audio Hebrew Bible is read aloud by Abraham Shmuelof for Talking Bibles International.

Logos, please combine this (same voice, or at least not with American accent) with the BHS and mark the text red that has been pronounced (karaoke style), then also add speed options and this would be a perfect tool for which I would definitely be willing to spend some money. the fact that you can also download this as a separate app (for free as well) on your smartphone (app name: Tanakh) makes this tool in its current setup in Logos not special. Hence, the low rating.

Impressive pronunciation, thankfully without American accent. Unfortunately the audio quality is scratchy like an old shellac record, that should better have been edited before! Also, the ends of the chapters are often torn off and the audio files are only accessible chapter by chapter instead of verse by verse. I dream of a Hebrew audio Bible where the text read aloud at any given time is highlighted in real time...

The sound it good. Properly pronounced, without an American accent, like in DDoH ! However, the reader rushes through the text, as if needing to catch the train, almost regardless of ponctuation. Often sentences are strung together as if there are no sof pasuq. I use it to read along with the Hebrew text. It's useful, but I wish the reading would read it more like a text to be read than an exercice to be done with.
