Top Highlights

“James is also not saying that a person is saved by works and not by genuine faith. Rather, he is saying, to use John Calvin’s words, that people are justified (declared righteous before God) by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone. Genuine faith in Christ both saves (see note on v. 21) and produces good deeds.” (Page 2182)

“Christ’s love is grounded in God’s free grace and is not the result of any worthiness merited by humanity. In fact, it is lavished on us in spite of our undesirable character.” (Page 1971)

“The appointed moment in God’s redemptive plan (see Mk 1:15; Gal 4:4 and notes).” (Page 1971)

“Human culture, accordingly, is not anti-God (though fallen human beings often have turned their efforts into proud rebellion against God). Rather, it is the activity of those who bear the image of their Creator and share, as God’s servants, in his kingly rule. As God’s representatives in the creaturely realm, they are stewards of God’s creatures. They are not to exploit, waste or despoil them, but are to care for them (see note on 2:15) and use them in the service of God and humankind.” (Page 15)

“It refers both to the holiness imparted to the believer because of Christ and to the believer’s personal sanctification” (Page 2068)

This is good. Is there a way to read this without the notes interlaced with the scripture? That way, we can opt / click for the scripture WITH notes, or just have the scripture alone. Seems like there's no way to toggle between the two, and that notes are a permanent fixture. Just seems like you could kill two birds with one stone by having an option to flip between the NIV Bible vs NIV Bible - Notes. Of course, there's more money to be made from not having this as an option. But there's making money, and then there's being extremely greedy.

Was this not in Logos before? I’m sure this NIV Study Bible notes was part of my Logos package at one time. Am I mistaken about this?
