Overview

The New Testament for Everyone Series provides a series of guides to the books of the New Testament. N.T. Wright has undertaken a tremendous task: to provide guides to all the books of the New Testament, and to furnish them with his own fresh translation of the entire text. This collection also includes two additional topical commentaries: New Testament Prayer for Everyone and New Testament Wisdom for Everyone.

Throughout the series, Wright’s own translation is combined with a highly readable discussion, with background information, useful explanation and interpretation, and thoughts as to how the text can be relevant to our lives today.

For additional volumes in this series, see our Old Testament for Everyone Commentary Series (17 vols.). Or, you can save even more with our Bible for Everyone Commentary Collection (35 vols.). Interested in more? Check out the Lent for Everyone Collection (3 vols.)!

This enterprise is probably the most exciting thing to have happened in Christian education in Britain for many years.

--Tells lots of stories, but ultimately ends up pandering to feminists and contemporary, worldly culture every time (e.g. 1 Timothy 2:11-15; 1 Peter 3:1-7, etc.). --Denies and attacks the authority God gave to men, calling them "bullies" if they think they should lead their families. --Claims women were "apostles", based on Romans 16 where it calls Phoebe a "servant". --Pure rubbish.

This has to be my favorite pastoral/applicational commentary available. Wright takes complicated theological matters and boils them down in a way any layperson can understand. He is relatable, relevant, and yet does not abandon the real gravity of the gospel message throughout the New Testament.
