Did you know there is a scarlet thread woven all through the pages
of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation—telling the incredible
story of all that Jesus would do and has done for us? And what He
is preparing for us in eternity?
In Bloodline, Pastor Skip Heitzig invites you on a journey
that follows this thread—a journey through every book of the Bible,
from the beginning to the end.
Follow along and witness for yourself
the unfolding of God’s rescue mission from Eden to
the historic and spiritual significance of what Jesus did for
you on the cross
how Jesus’s forgiveness of your past offers peace, meaning, and
purpose for your future
This is the bloodline of redemption. Trace it…and you will
experience Jesus’s great love for you as never before.
Bloodline attempts to tell the big story of atonement in an easy-to-read way by drawing from each and every single book of the Bible within 300 pages. If judged by the constraints it sets on itself, this is probably a one-of-a-kind book. However, by limiting the page count and insisting on 66 books of the Bible, the result is often rushed. Conclusions are made but at times not substantiated. Every chapter's call to worship becomes abrupt because the writing does not build up to that call. Based on Heitzig's sermons and other books, notably "The Bible From 30,000 Feet", one can't help but feel Bloodline could be a better book if it was given more lines.
