Overview

John’s Gospel is filled with thorough discussions of single topics and embeds its teaching in conversations. These unique themes distinguish the Gospel of John from the other three Gospels. Explore doctrines and concepts written to promote practical application to the reader’s life. Richard Phillips highlights John’s focus on the deity of Christ, the gospel witness of the Church, and salvation through faith in Jesus. Phillips clearly communicates the person and work of Christ with pastoral insight and demonstrates how to present evangelistic appeals from the pulpit. His scholarly treatment of each passage is ideal help for preparing sermons, while his nontechnical language makes this commentary suitable for Bible teachers and devotional reading.
